Please come out and play this weekend we need the car counts !!
MDRA was good turn out but it doesn't need to be MDRA to come have some fun.
It's not about the money cause you can always earn more !!
It is what it is come out to the Rock. I miss the old days of filled staging lanes.
Remember, you can't win if you don't RACE !!

I'm back from my trip! Yes, we rode the tail of the dragon along with lots of other mountain miles. The ambulance was there picking one guy out the rhubarb on our second pass through the dragon. Here's a little clip of what not to do at the dragon...

went to Nashville for a few days and watch them blow up 24,000 fireworks in 23 minutes. We were covered in ash soot after it was done.
Andy could run my car, but I've got the motor out right now too. Broke another oil pump shaft drive shaft. Should be ready for Sunday. I don't know if I would run JB weld on a torched block and head. There is a welder right next to Wheeler dyno service who welded a torched block for me, he did an excellent job and held for years. |

The Schmall family cars are still down. The Fury needs a motor and new transmission case. We were hoping to have the Vega out this week-end but after suspecting and pulling the torque converter we found that not to be the problem. So tonight after further investigation we discovered #4 AND #6 CYLINDERS were getting mixed up. Simple head gasket failure? Sure was - along with a huge crater in the head between the two combustion chambers and even worse a matching one on the deck of the block. So I'm hoping with a little JB Weld, a new head gasket and a little luck we should be out racing on Sunday.
Steve, hope you have a safe ride and a great trip. Hey do you need someone to look after your car for a few weeks while your gone? Andy says he would take real good care of it.

Steve, you'll love the ride! I'm assuming you're headed to the dragons tail on 129? I was there last summer, worth the trip just for that! |

How's the Schmall family race car (cars) repair going? Will you make it out this weekend? How bad was the damage? I won't be there, headed to Smokey Mountains today for a week to cruise the mountain roads on the Harley. Good luck to all! Steve |
