This was brought up at the BIR meeting at Pleasureland RV----I sent an email to Div. 5's Head Tech guru Bob Blackwell....below is his response.

Hello Travis,

A shield is not required in a door car running 7.50 or slower. You just need the full face helmet. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Bob

Subject: [Spam?] Helmet Rule

Bob,

One question on the 2008 helmet rule...If you run faster than 10.00 you need a full face helmet (I get that part), the part I'm not clean on is---does the shield have to be down if your in a door car?

What is the ruling on if I run a mid-10sec car, but just want to use a full face helmet---does the shield need to be down?

Thanks!
