Al Corda pointed something out to me this week at the Lucas Oil Divisional Event---"trailers have wheels." I think it may be time to turn them south when I leave my driveway if things can't/won't change.

My pops wanted to bail on the paid pit spots this year but I talked him out of it. If there isn't a guaranteed payout why would I or anyone want to invest anymore then what we already have ? Pretty much every track has a guaranteed pay out. Can you tell Im still pist about that ? Nothing more then a principle issue with me.
The trailer does have wheels....... yes it does. Nicely Put. This shouldnt even be an issue with the car counts up there.

Cars In Bracket 1 and 2 from the first race: Per the BIR news area.
In Super Pro, Myron Streit ran his 1968 Camaro to a finals win, outlasting 75 other racers...
The Pro class featured a field of 74 racers,
So Bracket 1 had more cars then bracket 2 ? With that said 1st place was $850 and Runner Up was $350 in both classes with only 1 semi finalist as well in each class ? You have got be kidding me ? It's a good thing Im not a postal worker. |

To defend Brainerd a little bit... Their rain policy is the same as every other track. "If rain or other occurrence halts racing before the completion of first round eliminations racers will receive free entry to the next race or, 70% credit of entry fee rounded up to the nearest dollar and there will be no purse payout or points awarded."
So if you aren't coming back to the track, you get 70% back. Otherwise you get a 100% credit for the class you were in for the next race.
I'm also going to add that because of the fact that the trip to Brainerd is becoming much more stressful instead of "fun". If the payouts were posted before the race, people would have nothing to complain about because they would know what they are racing for. It is both the tracks fault for not posting a payout for all car counts, and the racers fault for going out there without the knowledge of what they're racing for. We are just like trained sheep and eventually, even sheep realize that it's better for them to leave the farm.
....just my 2 cents.... |

Any other track manager in the midwest would think they died and went to heaven if they had 150 money bracket entries at a race this year.
As I posted before: 40-some cars TOTAL for the $2K bracket combo a little south of here and they paid the purse in-full. That has happened 4 times already this year with 5 and 6 likely this weekend.

Oddly enough as I'm posting this BIR payout complaint I received a phone call from Bob Van Houten. After discussing the first race Bracket payout situation with him, Bob told me that due to fact that the bracket 1&2 payout was not listed for a car count of less then 85 cars at the time of the first race, he would talk to Jed and ASK if he would be willing to make up the difference to the racers who were shorted from the original payout listed on the BIR website. So there is still a hope that BIR will make this right. I also asked Bob about the possibility of announcing the payout or car count at future races to help eliminate any confusion or suprises.

i won brk 3 and won a nice 250 i agree the last person to get shorted on prize money should be the winner i dont need 30 to be a third round runner up |

Congrats on the Win Dan...but, YIKES.
Times are tough, I guess the racers are the one's getting it in the shorts. $1,000 to Win in Brkt 1 or 2 NEVER was an issue until this season.
I use to like racing at BIR...FANTASTIC track, nice and close to home, lots of friends and 'family' ...times have changed I guess. And we as racer's must change as well.........
BTW---Joe, ever get paid "in-full" for that 1st race Win?
