this is another sheepfest 2004 story,my good friend mustang mike sandstrom helped with the slaughtering of the sheep and took careful aim with his grampa's rusty but trusty gun squeezing the trigger carefully dropping the sheep on the 1st try but the bullet came out the other side ricocheting off a rock and hitting molly, our donkey in the head, we couldn't see any wound but she kept walking in circles for days!!now she acts kind of mean and stubborn!!wait a minute,,,,she kind of acted that way before the inccident!!!her nickname is dan carlson!! |

Check out the Cedar Falls website. It appears that the racing surface is under water. I can't imagine how deep the pit areas are, or if it could even drain by next weekend. Jim |

Thursday A.M. I just spoke with Jok. The whole area is under water down there. If you have never been to his place, it is on the river in Janesville, a couple of doors from the old highway and the skinny bridge (the one where the river is usually 20 feet below) Well, the bridge is now under water, a log has broken it loose from the footings, he thinks it will have to come down, the water is within two foot of his home, and the land is flooded from his town clear past the track, with no access to it. Best wishes to our friends down there, hope it gets better before it gets worse. Maybe the Grove will be ready by next weekend, and the sheepfest could be relocated rather than cancelled. Jim |
