I believe if I understand from Bill correctly that the entry fee will be the same, just a matter of payout.

If the fields are 'short' of the 32, I guess I would rather see it Top 'heavy' to at least reward the Winner/Runner-Up well.

You are correct Travis, all class entry fees will be the same as 2008. This came from racer feedback, the higher the entry fee the higher the payout.
The payouts will be weighted towards the winner & runner up and will be consistent across all classes.

Stock / Super Stock @ $110.00

Combined Super Classes SC, SG, ST @ $110.00

Super Pro, Pro & Sportsman @ $80.00

Bike 1 & 2 @ $80.00

Trophy Classes Comp, Street & Bike @ 45.00

Jr. Dragster at @ $30.00

Entry for Gamblers Races will be at $50.00 this year, Box & No-box.

Just a reminder to you stock & super stock racers on a new rule this year

Racers competing in Stock Eliminator and Super Stock will have to adjust to a new rule implemented by NHRA regarding their protective clothing requirements. Drivers falling under certain categories and speed brackets will now be required to wear a SFI Spec 3.2A/1 jacket and pants.

Stock Eliminator competitors who are racing in classes AA/S-M/S, AA/SA-M/SA and any vehicles running an ET of 11.49 and quicker must be outfitted in the SFI/1 jacket and pants.

Racers running Super Stock in classes SS/J-SS/P, SS/JA-SS/PA and piloting a vehicle with an ET falling in between the times of 10.00-11.49 are now also required to wear the SFI/1 jacket and pants.

Don't always believe what you think

Higher the entry fee, the higher the payout ??? Not the case !! Tri-State 90buck entry, 1000 to win. Cedar Falls, 90buck entry 1000 to win. Thunder Valley, 75buck entry, 1000 to win. All on 32 cars. And more money paid out total in the class. MY POINT IS, Still want to see the payout 10 to 15 cars, 15 to 32 cars, and 32 to 64 cars!

Yeah, you gotta love it. We have the joy of racing at the three or four most expensive tracks in the country!

I've been told a lot of it has to do with "overhead" at certain tracks. I'm guessing the 'mystery' will be solved on March 17th with the all new web page. All I know is, I don't have the answers and I wish I did. I LOVE drag racing and all my friends I've met through the years. Just wish I knew how to make everyone (Tracks included) work together and happy. One thing I do know for fact, is we BOTH need each other.

Prof. Ron---shall I have the Dr. get a room ready for you in Internet Forum Racer Rehab? I've got some pull in this joint.

On a positive note---I did have a really great conversation today with a NEW track owner out west who loves the idea of a 2-Day, higher payout USA Stock/Super Stock event. I'm suppose to call him back in April to talk about dates.

See ya in Staging!!!

Oh they have security... Ron Leek yells at people to slow down over the P.A! The most effective method I've seen at any track!

They don't have any incentive to do it. The same people will be there no matter what the entry, payout, etc are. With limited exceptions, of course.

Travis, are you talking about the new owner @Intersate?? hopefully the new blood in there will get the facility back on the right track. after last year our family vowed to never return after 20 years of racing. however we will give him a chance. There is a new website check it out. apparently $1000 to win every Sat of each race weekend

According to Interstate's website, they have an $80 entry fee for super pro and only pay 600 and as far back as the semis?? Pro is a $70 entry, only $500 to win, and also pays back to the semis. Hopefully they pay farther back if they get more cars...
