Just a reminder....

Bracket race #5 will be this weekend. Run the same track as the pro's, prepped for the pros. John Force just left here after doing some testing and said the track was hooking good. Friday is Test & Tune, run the wheels off for just $55.00!

Saturday we also have the King of the Track and Junior Dragster Challenge events.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be Motorcycle racing on the 2.5 mile road course as well.

See ya then.....

Bill

Or $14.00 less than driving to the east.

Drive on the same track that Terry Edwards crashed, Bruno Massel got way loose, and Brina Splingaire, Mike Wiblishouser, Mark Nowicki, Gary Stinnett, and Brett Speer all spun the wheels off the car.

Tony, Brainerd is different than the track down south because you can say you're going to test and not have to pay for it for 4 weeks! I think that works for entries now too. The only problem is if you want to walk in the staging lanes there's going to be an extra $10 fee even if you paid to enter the race.

Bill I cant say i didn't see this coming. With that said Bill I want to thank you for posting and promoting the sport of drag racing on behalf of BIR on the MDRA forum.

We appreciate the efforts BIR has provided to MDRA this season starting with the May 10th MDRA run stickers on all vehicles , Handing out MDRA car show flyers at the front gate , posting our MDRA logo on your website, attending various MDRA events such as spring meetings and taking the time to participate on this forum even with negative comments.

So yes Im scolding various members on this forum and asking to please refrain from banter whenever possible.

I have spoken with Bill on multiple occasions and I know that his heart is in the right place regarding the BIR bracket program. I also appreciate his participation on this board although it probably comes back to bite him more often than not. Case in point right here.

I do apologize for the rip; the mention of John Force just brought back the old feeling I have had for years that this track thinks it is something special due to being a national event track and that we should be thankful for the privilege of racing on such hallowed ground.

That said, I'll see you all up there this weekend.

Thanks Dave, this was really to stop the rumor that we canceled all the T&T days this year, we haven’t.
Tony, my John Force reference was purely to say that the track is in great shape and that a few pro’s thought it stuck well enough to stay over for testing on Monday. Nobody stayed to test in Ohio because the track was junk. They didn’t stay to test in a lot of other places because the track didn’t hook there either. I don’t feel that this is hallowed ground because it holds a National Event, that was the previous ownership. I love this place because it’s where I grew up and where I started racing. Tony we’ve had several great conversations about all kinds of things and I value your opinion. I’m still working on a few of the things we talked about in the spring, only time will tell if we can make them happen.
I've stopped replying to all the negativity because it doesn't pay, I’d rather take that time to work on real issues. There are too many “keyboard brave” people out there that have opinions (or borrowed opinions) about things but don’t have all the facts. When I talk to them on the phone or face to face they usually change their minds or at least understand the bigger picture but never post a retracted message once they understand. Some posters do it because they’re trying to make a joke, others are antagonistic and are trying to get people all worked up. Either way it’s usually a waste of time, I consider the source before posting any reply now.
Bottom line is this; we’re trying to put together the best program possible. Will it make everybody happy? Nope, but it doesn’t mean we won’t keep trying.
By the way Tony, remember that dinner I attended back in the spring? 24 racers in the room and I couldn’t get more than 5 to agree on any topic….. that was fun!

I am looking forward to being there this weekend, especially since I opted to go to the cabin instead of the last race! Must be getting old!?!
