2008 USA Drag Race Schedule
The United Sportsman Association (USA) 2008 Drag Race Schedule is as follows:
Cedar Falls Raceway, Sat. & Sun., May 17 & 18.
Brainerd Intl. Raceway, Sat. & Sun., June 7 & 8.
Brainerd Intl. Raceway, Sat. & Sun., July 19 & 20.
Tri-State Raceway, Sat. & Sun., Aug. 30 & 31.
Thunder Valley Dragway, Sat. & Sun., Sept. 13 & 14.
As usual the above schedule is subject to change because of weather conditions, local track problems, or NHRA schedule changes. Stay tuned and if you do have questions, call H K at 763-561-9407.
Please send your $50 USA membership fee in as soon as possible so that the USA Board can determine how many races the organization can fund. The first race at Cedar Falls Raceway will have $1000 added to the purse offered for the Saturday STK./SS Combo race. Only USA members are eligible for USA payouts. USA memberships may be sent to Joe Demarais at Forest Lake, MN, or to H K Newstrom at 7201 Unity Ave. N., Brooklyn Center, MN 55429-1277.

Is this an offshoot of the S/SS combo MDRA used to run?
I used to do a lot of bracket racing (former MDRA member) 15 to 20 years ago, and I'm back in the area and getting ready to go Stock Eliminator racing this season (A/FS).
I'll be running the car at bracket events also and am looking forward to meeting up with some of the guys that are still around and active in the sport.

USA (United Sportsman Association)---I believe it was started in the '90s by Ron Zenzen, Randy Mans, Terry Johnson and a few others.
It's for S/SS only and it has it's own events/points seperate from MDRA.
The MDRA 'lumps' all "Sportsman" together for their points program---S/ST, S/G, S/C, and S/SS.
