Rumor has it that instead of one of the two day bracket weekends, Brainerd will host a race somewhat like pinks. The goal is to have 600 cars enter the race for $30 and randomly pick 300 for Sunday's elimimations. The race will be run with cars that are faster than 10.50. On Sunday, They will pair up cars and randomly give them a dial-in. So a 10.00 car is racing an 8.00 car. The 10 second car gets the dial in of 11.00 and the 8.00 car gets a dial in of 12.00. If you breakout, you lose, if there is a double breakout both cars lose. The winner takes home $10,000 i believe.... sounds like fun right?!?!? What do we all think????

It's kind of hard to be sarcastic on a forum... but the topic may come up at the "Bracket Racers Meeting"

There was actually talk of something similar on another board. In that thread, it was said that all cars would be quicker than a given threshold, like Andy's 10.50. When both cars were staged for a run, the starter would hold up a card to the racers containing the "dial-in" which is the same for both racers.
I actually think it sounds pretty fun. I don't know where BIR would find more than 150 cars quicker than 10.50 though.

the way i heard the rules for this new race were a bald headed guy with muscular arms wearing a white muscle shirt stands where the tree is located holding a beer in each hand, when he lifts the beers up the two drivers take off towards him, grabbing the beers from him and looking on the bottom of the can where there dial-in is written, then they must consume the entire can of beer and exchange lanes before the 60' cone where there is a gal wearing a bikini holding a recycling bin, they must throw the cans in the bin and continue down track to the 1/8 mile cone where a monkey wearing a white muscle shirt is standing holding two bananas one in each hand, the drivers must then grab a banana from him, peel and eat it, while driving to the finish line the driver can throw the peeling at there opponent to try and keep them from running there dial, the winner is the driver running closest to there dial with out going under, in the event both drivers run under there dial, this would be a double breakout and the driver running closer would win.the winner would recieve a chance to go on a date with either the girl in the bikini or the monkey, there choice!!! this is the way i remember it when mike sandstrom explained it to me on the canadian run. shake&bake p.s. i can only think of one driver that could dominate this style of racing and that would be BIG BLOCK SHAWN

Hey spelling chief, what would you call this event? Goin Bananas or Gone Bananas??? Oh by the way, you spelled "receive" wrong. Remember i before e except after c. Hopefully you can edit that before Davey wakes up.

No Tony, spelled is correct. Spelt can also be used but is considered the British past tense. Spelt is a wheat, native to southern Europe and western Asia, used chiefly for livestock feed. Maybe Joe uses spelt as feed for all his sheep.

Joe, I know how it is "spelled" (not to brag, but 3-time Independent School District 199 spelling bee champion here) but was just using the word used by our resident spellchecker when making corrections. I did not know that "spelt" has ever been proper; I just figured Bananarama was being ironic when using it.
Now back to your regularly-scheduled program.
