A lot of good that will do. He's probably sleeping in the parking lot over by Wheelers.

I believe they only take 5 or 6 races out of 8 so i guess you just choose were you want to race that weekend. I would like to see the schedule stay as it is.

Mike, How come? Before somebody goes and changes this because I opened my big mouth other views should be heard. Although, Jim Lindsay's observation about the JR thing should have been better

represented at the board meeting. Lee, shouldn't having the JRs there be a priority?

Tim i'm not saying the Junior program isn't important, but last year we had 6 members. Should we change the schedule for EVERYBODY when
maybe a couple of them can't make one race weekend?? Maybe just change the junior schedule like previously mentioned.

Is there another reason than that? I kind of feel like butting heads with a Rock race when it's not necessary is a bad idea. From where I sit June 5-6 makes better sense than 26-27 does. I'm not saying I'm right I'm just making an observation. I don't care how it ends up , I will be at CFR both weekends.

Just an observation, but it would seem like no matter how the MDRA schedule is laid out, you would not be able to make everyone happy. I believe that that is why you would take your best 5 of 8 races like they allready do. Mainly because you can choose to go else where for a couple weekends and in the end, you would only be losing show-up points, and would still be in the hunt to win the points.

Since I have not seen all the track info laid out on a single calender. I will not judge the Boards selection of race dates.

I asked John about it and he said the JR dragster 2010 MDRA schedule will be looked at per Eddyville's hosting of the Div 5 Junior championships being scheduled on the same weekend as the MDRA race at Cedar Falls. Not sure of the outcome but it will be discussed. More info to come. Pretty sure the MDRA bracket schedule will remain the same.

I understand the job of picking tracks and dates would not be easy, and i have no problem with the schedule. I have said and will say again, it just surprised me that it was not at CFR on the 5th and 6th that's all.

Let's face it we all have our own loyalties and will go where we want anyway.

It's not my place to speak for the board, but I think we did a good job with the schedule considering all of the obstacles. Put the BIR, CF, GC, and RF schedules on a calendar and you will see a lot of conflits.
Picking two CF points races was the hardest part of making the
schedule. Three of the five CF weekends conflict with BIR events. We
didn't put a CF MDRA race on a BIR points race weekend partly because
all of the BIR bracket races count for their points. We didn't use
the CF August points race because it is the same time as the Nationals
at BIR, and too many people wouldn't go for that idea.
Both of the other two CF points race weekends conflict with a RF
race on Sunday. The first CF weekend, May 1 and 2, just seemed too
early in the season to pick with some people not ready to go. That
left the June 26 and 27 dates at CF for the MDRA points races, these
too with conflicts. That Sunday is another RF race and it is the Div.
5 Jr. championships at Eddyville. According to the NHRA website that
event is scheduled to be done on Saturday, so a family could stop
at CF on Sunday on the way home. Another consideration with the Jr.
schedule is that we try to have Jrs. and the big cars at the same track on the same weekend to keep expenses down.
We kicked around having the 2 CF races on 2 Saturdays, May 1 and
June 26. Some racers could then chose to run CF on Saturday and leave
to go to RF for Sunday. This has been done in the past but we decided
that we wanted to get both races done on the same weekend to save our
members the travel expenses and time of making 2 trips to Iowa.
No matter what the schedule is we can't make everybody happy. Once
again this year we didn't schedule any races during the summer holiday
weekends. This gives members the freedom to go to Byron or maybe do
some kind of activity other than racing.
Overall, I think, this years schedule is the best and easiest to
follow in quite a while. It only takes one trip to the north, one trip
to the west, one trip south and 3 relatively short ones to the east
to make it to all of the races. No matter how many points races you attend you can still participate in the Bonus Bucks program, the
TNT Perfect Run program and the MDRA All Stars program for any races
that you make it to.
I hope this post is long enough for everyone, I started composing
it yesterday, hey, I'm a slow typer. Thanks for your time.
