Posted - 03/25/2008 : 21:11:58 Overhead is going to vary WIDELY by track. That isn't something the racers really need to concern themselves with.
If a track has too much overhead and is trying to cover it with bracket race profits, they probably will not provide a program that is attractive when compared to that of a leaner/more efficient track.

Posted - 03/25/2008 : 13:59:27 Let's assume the track must take at least 25% of the total purse as profit:
To pay $1000/500, you will need at least 28 cars:

With only 17 cars, you can pay $700/350 by cutting round money to $75:

Posted - 03/25/2008 : 12:02:50 That's a cool model there Tony...and seems pretty fair. If my SCSU math is correct then..using BIR as an example---$80 entry fee (90 cars)should pay $1600 Win/$800 RU.

Posted - 03/25/2008 : 11:49:41 I would like to see something along these lines for a track that draws a decent number of cars.
Winner gets 20X the entry fee, runner-up gets half of that and 3rd round losers get their money back. The track keeps 26% in this 90-car example.
