What do you think is a fair entry fee/payout? Obviously, we would all like to pay less and earn more---but, what do you feel is "fair."

I would like to see something along these lines for a track that draws a decent number of cars.

Winner gets 20X the entry fee, runner-up gets half of that and 3rd round losers get their money back. The track keeps 26% in this 90-car example.

That's a cool model there Tony...and seems pretty fair. If my SCSU math is correct then..using BIR as an example---$80 entry fee (90 cars)should pay $1600 Win/$800 RU.

Same structure using some BIR numbers, as requested:

Let's assume the track must take at least 25% of the total purse as profit:

To pay $1000/500, you will need at least 28 cars:

With only 17 cars, you can pay $700/350 by cutting round money to $75:

How much overhead do you think the track has? Employees? Equipment? Utilities? ETC. Russ

Overhead is going to vary WIDELY by track. That isn't something the racers really need to concern themselves with.

If a track has too much overhead and is trying to cover it with bracket race profits, they probably will not provide a program that is attractive when compared to that of a leaner/more efficient track.
