Here is a good one to get started.
I here a few guys out there loosen all there valve springs over the long winter. And some do not. is it proven to help or is this not necessary 
Myth/ proven or busted ?

It seems logical that a spring at rest will last longer than a spring that is compressed for any amount of time. The result is a spring that is not necessarily as strong as the ones that were at rest. The result is inconsistent high rpm performance.
Of course with a Mopar, it only takes about ten minutes to "loosen the rockers" so we would need a reason not to do it.

We always loosen ours, but our dragster still seems to be a solid tenth slower when it comes back out for the 2nd year on a rebuild. It has happened twice in a row on two completely different engines. We loosened them again this year, but also plan to install new springs before the season starts to see if that helps.
You should have asked this question in the fall so someone with a good spring checker could attempt to bring some before/after measurements to the table.

I try to remember to loosen mine if the car(s) sit for more than a couple weeks---spring, summer, winter, fall.
I think a lot of it has to do with the parts you use, and how much lift you have.
Just a good habit I feel.
