Posted - 02/15/2008 : 16:41:38 I'm not sure if everyone got a notice that BIR is hosting their 1st annual bracket racers meeting on Saturday March 22nd at 9AM to noon at Pleasurland RV in St. Cloud. Sounds like a good way for the management to reach out to what the racers want. Steve Roehrs |

Posted - 04/28/2008 : 10:06:43 Last race of the season was rained out . Racers received a 50% return on the entry fee back but only if you kept your little white receipt.

Posted - 04/27/2008 : 20:52:03 Like you Jed I hate not finishing something let alone carry it over ... even in to the next race season?!? Last season we did not have a single race we didn't finish ... oh wait, was there one? If there was we were able to finish it Saturday if I remember correctly. Obviously I didn't make many rounds that weekend?!?

Posted - 04/19/2008 : 14:43:01 Other than double race weekends I am considering finishing the races on Fridays and Saturdays of the following races. I do not like not finishing what we started! I am informed this is the way it used to be. Double race weekends may carry over if delayed but time will not allow the double races to be used as make up. This would leave the last race issues and a plan could be to carry over til next year with some sort of rain check.

to answer the question about Thunder Valley, they give out a rain check for another event or 100% credit to another event. Hope that helps..............................TNX for now

Posted - 04/05/2008 : 02:01:40 Cedar Falls and Eddyville give out rain checks which are like free entry cards. So 100% of the entry goes back to the racer but not in cash or check. Rock Falls uses the rain check thing too. |

Posted - 04/04/2008 : 13:42:21 One oops, our math on the pro pad is causing many problematic calls, 200/year advanced or 150 by the show (for the season) pissed of some that pre buy (tried explaining it was free last year) The new formula will be: price/(number of races) = weekend fee. or 200/5=40. We then can pro rate if they want that spot for the remainder of the year. We extend this offer to any space in the facility someone wants to reserve for the season, or they are first come first get.
There is still fre all asphalt spots with electrical hookups.
It is still 30.00 to leave a rig between races, excluding the July 18 bracket (Because of Nationals)

Posted - 04/04/2008 : 13:24:55 Wow, nice how a couple of tracks spell about everything out, we need to do the same. Thanks all who posted info,
Tin indian: If I go somewhere I have to bring a car... I could not just watch. It has been about 10 years since I have been to RFR it would be cool to see it again.
Sorry no free TNT on double weekends.
Tazmaniac: Chevelle looks great, but I am waiting for a nice day to setup the line to test the system, and try a pass or 2.
If we can be efficient for the double races and get a TT and race in on Saturday then it may be possible on sunday as well. If saturday carries over than no sunday TT but we will do our best. No licence passes Sat or Sun of double races.
Anyone know what percent Eddyville, Ceder falls, or thunder valley use for rain checks?

There is still about 15 all asphalt "first come, first get" parking spots on the new lot south of the condo, with available hookups. We also paved the dirt grid behind the Snap-on bathrooms so with an old piece of carpet you can stay out of the dirt! There is a post under Rock Falls where someone is asking for paid, reserved spots... With every decision I make some are happy, some are not but decisions are made with the best interest of the facility and the racers. I will not debate every issue here but am reading this and other boards as part of an effort to better understand issues and concerns facing our customers, to occasionally correct false information and answer the questions that I can. I have learned our group of bracket racers are mostly well behaved, and am going to reduce daytime security this year, not mentioning names but please do not make me reverse this decision... It is also a goal to get cars down track faster with less waiting, more racing! Payout is the same as last year and will be posted soon. The final details of the "rain out" policy are still being derived for fairness to BIR and racers, BIR will not be responsible for the weather.
I look forward to reading your constructive comments.

Jed, Suggestion. How bout you and Scott go to a few Bracket races at other tracks, like RFR,Grove Creek, and Byron. Nothing like scoping out the competition ! you could experience how they all do things and go back and brainstorm on ways to make BIR the best track in the 5 state area. (program wise) the facility is already awesome. Kinda like a benchmark program. you can take ideas from each track and make changes to your programs ! Just a constructive suggestion

Like I said, I haven't been to RFR in years---but, I'm changing that this year.

To help understand the pricing a Rock Falls
Everyone coming in the gate pays for their wrist band 10 dollars. Then they are a spectator or if they are racing they go to the Tech window and buy as many entrys $70 money brackets. That way they are paying $70 per bracket. It is the wrist band that is 50% and the tech card entrys that are credited 100% minus $5.00
Another benefit of doing it this way. There is no backup at the front gate. You can park in your pit spot and go to the teck window later.

Please review the rain out policy as soon as possible. I know that almost all the tracks use the 100% back minus 5 dollars. I am sure that it will make a difference for some racers watching the weather from home before they make the trip.
Thanks for now and will be watching the forum, and the BIR website for your input.

Posted - 03/28/2008 : 10:27:56 I know I heard that as well Andy. Where did we hear that from ? They never said anything of the sort at the St. Cloud meeting ,pertaining to the free Friday time runs on double weekends, that I can remember but I know it was said prior at some point.
I still feel "NO LAST MINUTE ENTRY TIME RUNS ON SUNDAY UNLESS EVERYONE GETS ONE."

Posted - 03/27/2008 : 18:20:47 Even though with the 2 day races there isn't a time trial on sunday, I believe I saw somewhere that if you enter for both days you get to take time trials on Friday for free. If I'm correct on that it's a great idea for the people who need time trials to test their car or tune in their reaction time. |
