$1,000 guaranteed payout Saturday, NHRA King of the Track on Sunday! What more could you want. Tow once race as much as you want ALL weekend!!! A the Creek (if you haven't been there yet), you get 2-3 Time-Trials, Gambler's Race BOTH days, and the regular Money race!

I've heard there is another "local" track running this weekend, but only 'racing' on Sunday. Rumor has it you might actually get 1 time trial there too Sunday AM.

If your on the fence about where to go---Support a track that actually cares about the racers!!! GO to the Creek!

But at the Creek a Gambler's race is in addition to racing for $1,000 (Guaranteed) on Saturday.

PLUS, they run a Gambler's race on Sunday in addition to the regular racing program. OH---and at Grove Creek, they PAYOUT at the track!!!

It's nice to have options....No matter where you go...have FUN and be safe!

Only because of Oil Downs during time trials. Otherwise, they have ALWAYS been a part of Grove Creek racing on Sunday's. Did they have them on Monday (Labor Day)???

I was at Tri-State, so Im not 100% sure on Monday's program.

Yeah they do for a fact PAYOUT at the track, but I heard that they like to pay "round money" for "semi-final" money.....

Tracks usually either pay round money or determine payout by number of cars remaining in the round. I don't know that any "round money" tracks typically do something special until the final round, do they? And why should they?

On August 17, in the Sportsman class, I made it to four cars and was paid $60 (4th rd money) but was listed on the Grove Creek website as being a semi-finalist. Grove Creek advertises WINNER, RUNNER-UP, SEMI, then round money. What gives??? On this day Rick paid a winner, runner-up and two 4th round losers (no semi finalist). In my opinion I don't think he did the right thing.

That does sound strange Joe...because if that's the race I'm thinking it was, I got $125 for my Semi-Final ($1000 to win). I was actually down to 5 cars---I had the Qtr. Final bye, and my starter broke in staging. Since I had the bye, they declared me the winner (so into the Semis), but I couldn't fix the starter in time as it was round-robbin of sorts.

Perhaps a couple of minor 'bugs' at the Creek to be worked out yet. Never said it was perfect----just that they like the racers and accommodate the majority to there very best. With very little overhead, security, and a smaller car count.

Personally, I'm tired of the 'normal' at BIR and I need a break. I'm frustrated with a 1st Class facility that year in and year out has the ability to do great things with the sport of drag racing in the MN area and falls short. In a way, a lot like the Vikings. BIR IS a Great facility, Great grounds, Great people---even the ones I don't agree with, I can agree to disagree and I can say that they treated me with respect...It just keeps coming up short in my book.

I'm going to take 2009 to explore new grounds.

Now, I'm going to go climb in a tree----then off to Internet Racer Forum Rehab.

Have a good race weekend where ever you go! Be safe!!!

Travis, did you get to the semi's in Sportsman when your starter broke? Joe, perhaps when you thought you were at four cars, Travis' broken car really made it 5?

Steve, look at the results on the Grove Creek web site - I'm listed as a semi-finalist.

Yes---'technically' I made it to the Semi's since I had the bye run at 5 cars.

Don't always believe what you read on the internet on racing forums.
