Andy it is in the final phases. It is being tested, copy being written, and being proofed as I type this (I'm doing that in another window right now). It should be completed and live very shortly.

Hey Travis,
I checked my phone, twice, and you haven't called. If you have questions, feel free to call me.
As far as the new website, it should be up on Tuesday the 17th. We have a few fixes and changes to make as well as adding a bunch of new content. Just taking the same old stuff from the old site, putting a pretty new bow on it and sending it back to you wasn't going to cut it in our eyes. Is it delayed longer than we had hoped? Yep. We're trying to give you guys what you want and what you deserve, and that all takes time.
We understand that many of you are trying to plan your racing schedule so you get the most bang for your buck and want to know what we have planned, it only makes sense. I can tell you that we're working hard to provide you the best value, while being able to keep the doors open and the lights on. We’re looking at how everything fits together and trying to make it fit better and easier into more racers schedules. For instance, the past couple of years we had huge gaps in the bracket schedule and our ET Finals racers had to go to other tracks to shakedown their cars before the event. We worked hard to eliminate that gap in 2009. This year we have at least one bracket event every month, including the weekend before ET finals. To make this year’s schedule fit better required lots of phone calls to other track renters asking if we could move them around a bit, it worked out but took lots of extra time.
Now I know what you’re saying, that bracket weekend happens to fall on the same weekend as the Earlville Divisional. For those of you that want to attend the Divisional race we decided early on in the scheduling process to only count the best six of seven races this year with NO PENELTY if you miss a race. This decision should work out better for more racers and allow them flexibility in their scheduling.
Searching for sponsors and developing new events also takes time, more this year than most. We're trying to strike the best balance we can with what we have to work with, this year we have 54 days of drag racing and 85 days of road racing scheduled, the most ever for BIR. I’d like to see both grow for 2010. We’ve started working on NEXT year’s schedule already because we have to start now if we want to bring you the events you want to see here. I can tell you that our web designer could have launched the new site with the old data a couple of weeks ago, I thought you guys deserved better than that.
And Travis, if you have some free time and want to lend a hand, give me a call.
Bill

Hey Bill,
Not quite sure how your comment was intended, all I said above was in referance to Andy's question about the NEW BIR web page and Prix-Mo's response. I simply noted that---'Yep, it's still the same.' I've had no need to call you, so no need to check your phone.
I know your gonna really miss me this year, as I have decided to tour other tracks in the midwest. A bitter-sweet decision I chose to make at the end of '08. I'll be at BIR for a couple MDRA Events it looks like and of course the Lucas Oil D5 Event & Lucas Oil Nationals.
It would be nice to see the entry fee and payout scale for both Brackets & Stock/Super Stock at BIR. But perhaps for those like me that are curious, that will be cleared up on the March 17th release of BIR's NEW web page. Lots of 'rumors' being talked about in the area.
Speaking of rumors, Prof. Zenzen if your reading this....you still headed to that track to the West on Saturday for a meeting?

Are these the pills you are taking yourself, or the ones you drop in the drink of your "date" shortly before carrying her home?

The Dr hands them out before bed time in rehab. "Happy pills" of sorts...
You get a lot of time to 'think' in this place.
Last night I was 'thinking' how does one get 54 days of drag racing at BIR in '09? This is like one of those College Calc. word problems. You have 7 bracket events (3-day, Fri-Sun), so that's 21. Add in 4 days for the LODRS Event (I'm even counting the Thurs T-n-T), that brings you to 25. Add in 4 more days for the Lucas Oil Nationals and I get 29.
Still 25 days left unaccounted for---Solve for X.
X must equal other events like Show-n-Go, Muscle Car Shootout, Wed. Nigt Street Legal, etc. That BIR is counting as 'drag racing'....
"Hey Doc!!! Throw me another one of those 'pink pills' before our small group session!"

I guess those other types of racing do count as "drag racing" although they don't carry much weight with the readers of this board.
Maybe it is like DirecTV claiming they have 150 channels of HD, but they are counting all the Pay-Per-Views, sports league packages, etc.
While BIR is holding off in getting any details out to the public, we as racers can use the information available from various other track websites to plan our seasons.

| Although those "other" types of bracket racing don't appeal to most of us, they are very important for turning the Muscle car / show and go people into "bracket racers". I may be wrong but I think Davey Hamilton started racing at the show-n-go and muscle car races before turning into a hardcore bracket racer. So even though you don't want to count these races as 'drag races' they play a key role in attracting people to the sport. |

Andy is correct I could name a couple dozen or more "hard core bracket racers" that started at those events.

Yes Travis & Tony, we do count SNG, MCSO Wed nights, the new Sport Compact Event, and the new ICE race in those days. Bracket racing is not the only type of drag racing we have at BIR and many racers do not like bracket racing and prefer heads-up racing. The Ice (index class eliminator) race is a new event set for May 29-31 it will feature our outlaw & street classes that run at SNG & MCSO along with a heads-up index race. We will have 8 classes 10.50, 11.00,11.50,12.00 ... to 14.00, run on a pro tree will breakouts for running faster than your index. The class winners will then run off on their indexes for an overall winner. It will be open to bracket cars/racers and payouts are being finalized. Phil
