The site does look nice! A tad slow to load, but that could be on my end. The only thing I wanted to see (Payout)doesn't load however (again, could be on my end perhaps).

The other thing I noticed, but I can't recall where it was, is that BIR is CHARGING for PIT Bikes/Golf Carts---if I read that right?!?!? Something like $10 for bracket events and $30 for Nationals? Can't exactly see charging John Force for a pit bike....but maybe Bill or Prixmo can clear that one up for me. Perhaps it's just 'spectators' they are charging? That just doesn't make sense to me...

Insurance reasons. Supposedly all the big NHRA tracks are doing it.

Based on what Bill said at the spring meeting, if your pit vehicle has tabs you don't have to pay the fee.

Another ENHANCEMENT I JUST came accross----$30 to enter the 'official BIR' points program...and if I read correctly that includes the NHRA "King of the Track Event" which, is also an MDRA points race. So even if I don't want to run for track points at BIR, yet support the MDRA and it's points race at the track on that weekend (again if I read it correctly), I would need to pay $30 for whatever reason???

UGH----Doc!!! Medicate me again!!!

BTW---I just spoke with Matt Levonas from the Division 5 office. He worked both Pomona and Phoenix National Events, and told me there was no-charge for pit bikes/golf carts at those two events.

I have no problem with a fee to join the points program. They were in the minority to not charge over the last several years.

I do not know what "King of the Track" is, but I am pretty sure it involves a hat, a jacket and a Wally. None of which interest me. I am sure you can still participate in the bracket event on the day this circus happens without paying the $30.

I think I recall hearing about the pit bike fee at the nationals a couple years ago, and it only applied to spectators. The participants received their sticker for 1 pit-bike per entry at no additional fee. Rumors that a 2nd "unlicensed" pit bike was seen moving under it's own power around the Leonard pit area are just that; rumors.

Paying a fee to use each pit vehicle at a bracket race is something I do have a problem with. When obtaining the authorization sticker for your pit vehicle, you must also sign a form accepting responsibility for damages caused by said pit vehicle. I am guessing that when your stuff is damaged by a pit vehicle, you will be told that you signed a waiver when you came in the gate accepting that you are entering at your own risk and nobody is to blame for anything that happens inside.

Also, a "guideline" that trailers should not be wider than the tow vehicle? I'll venture a guess that at least 50% of the tow vehicles are more narrow than the trailers they are pulling. If you are towing with a single rear wheeled vehicle you are on thin ice, Mister!

"In order to get a vehicle approved a person 18 or over with a valid drivers license must sign a release waiver and take full responsibility for that vehicle and any and all injuries/damages it causes."

If you sign your pit vehicle up, you are responsible for all damages that the vehicle that you signed up causes.\

I'll be selling BIR Pit Bike stickers at the cost of $5 as a way to raise money for tuition. All interested send PM.

By the way Tony, it was great watching your comments as the countdown to the website was happening. I could only hope that someday I find a job where I can do what you do. Instead of getting paid to talk on forums, I have to pay!

OK...I couldn't take it, so I called Bill Johnson from Rehab. Pit Bikes---he was quite certain that if they were lic. and had current tabs there would be no charge. If not, it's $10 per/year....not each race. The $30 is for National Event spectators who bring in golf carts, pit bikes, etc.

$30 for BIR season points and King of the Track----I read that wrong. You pay $30 for season points fund (your enrolled/eligible)for the King of the Track event run on Saturday (that weekend)....taking the Top 2 from each class at that point---running them off, then running all the Winners off for the King of the Track! You can enter Sunday's event at the normal gate price.

What an enterprising young man. It started with trailer accessories and now capturing the niche market created by BIR vehicle guidelines. I salute your drive, Andy!

If I remember correctly, the "King of the Track" race did not run so smooth last year. You could have a .400 pro tree S/C car or dragster, running a 17.00 second Street Trophy car on a .500 full tree. How would the S/C racer have a chance to win with waiting 8.1 seconds for pro tree, and actually be able to have a decent light? So hopefully it will be ran a lot better this year.

What if your pit vehicle does not require a license such as our golf cart which we need for Juniors, I know the $10 is nothing compared to the over all cost but, they raised the price of reserving a spot(I know I dont have to reserve a spot). Sounds like the govt. "No new Taxes" but raise the fees everywhere.....after venting I still appreciate BIR

$10 per/year for the golf cart as it isn't insured/lic. That's my understanding.
