I have a Holley 670 Street Avenger that I have had for 3 years that I am going to run this year. It came with those nice gold stone type filters in each fuel inlet. I do have an external fuel filter so I removed the internal ones, is that OK? My gut says it is OK since it is just a filter and shouldn't actually regulate flow or anything like that.
Are you running a fuel cell or factory tank? Fuel cells you have to be careful with the foam breaking down over the years and going through your pump, lines and filter---and into your carb.
Aftermarket pump or factory?
Why would you remove them if they don't restrict flow or performance???
I run my fuel regulators between 7psi and 7 3/4 psi (depending on car). You want to be careful not to blow by the needle and seat.
In this past week, I've spent the better half of an hour talking to Aeromotive with regards to my Super Stock car. And I'm going to make some big changes. I've spent the better half of two evenings completely ripping out all the old fuel lines, pump, filter, and regulator. You wouldn't believe how much 'stuff' your fuel filter catches.

Travis, you just made me feel better about not running a fuel filter on the Nova for 8 seasons now. Fuel is carefully strained through several layers of 10 micron mesh on the way in, then let 'er rip!
I have a factory tank and use a standard mechanical fuel pump through normal fuel lines and rubber hoses. Just a daily driven old Chevy that races at the track (and pulls a trailer). I figured I didn't need those factory filters as long as I had something downstream.
